Ohio Campus Compact offers an exciting number of grants and awards to students from our member institutions:

MLK Day of Service

The MLK Day of Service helps mobilize over 1,300 college students and youth who complete service projects throughout the state of Ohio while reflecting on Dr. King’s life.

Charles J. Ping Student Service Award

The Charles J. Ping Student Service Award is open to all Ohio Campus Compact member institutions through State Farm Insurance’s generous financial support. The Charles J. Ping Award was designed to recognize and honor undergraduate students for their outstanding leadership and contributions to community service OR service-learning on their campus and within their community.

David Hoch Memorial Award for Excellence

The David Hoch Memorial Award for Excellence in Service was designed to recognize and honor the outstanding work in service-learning and/or civic engagement by a faculty or staff member at an Ohio Campus Compact member institution.

Pay it Forward

In addition to the personal awards above, Ohio Campus Compact also sponsors the Pay it Forward program. The Pay it Forward initiative is developing a new generation of philanthropists through an innovative course-based service-learning program that engages Ohio, Michigan, and Kentucky college students in hands-on philanthropy, grant-making, and volunteer service while providing community nonprofits with much needed assistance during the economic downturn.
