Who Are We?

Who Are We?

Ohio Campus Compact is a non-profit, membership coalition of 46 college and university presidents and their campuses working to promote the civic purposes of higher education. As the only statewide association dedicated solely to advancing campus-based civic engagement, Ohio Campus Compact has been a leader in advocating for and supporting programs and initiatives that build civic engagement and public service into campus and academic life. Established in 1992, Ohio Campus Compact is part of the National Campus Compact network consisting of a national office, 35 state offices, and more than 1100 campuses.

So What?

Ohio Campus Compact (OCC) provides member campuses with a broad range of services and resources designed to increase the effectiveness of their civic engagement efforts.

OCC seeks to promote student and institutional engagement and public service that:

1. Stimulate a statewide culture of social commitment and responsibility throughout higher education.

2. Increase the extent and quality of co-curricular and curricular community service, service-learning, community-based research, and numerous other forms of engagement on college and university campuses.

3. Build the capacity of member campuses to establish, maintain, and strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships with local communities.
