“Fight Poverty with Passion” isn’t just a catchy slogan on AmeriCorps* VISTA promotional posters. It also aptly describes the work of Heather Eichner, an Ohio Campus Compact VISTA serving at the University of Mount Union. Heather focuses on combating hunger and improving food security in her community. Her myriad efforts culminated in the creation of a new community pantry that serves thousands of Alliance families. Heather has worked on campus and in the community to recruit dozens of pantry volunteers---a majority of which are also pantry clients.
